Week 13 Recap

Thanksgiving week did NOT disappoint. We had one team clinch a spot in the playoffs, two crazy matchups, and are set for one final sprint to the finish. Oh, any there are six teams on a BYE. SIX. Because of course there are.

Standings

Erik has locked up his spot in the playoffs. That leaves Megan, Shannon, Ryan, Jon, and Blythe competing for the final three spots. There are two specific scenarios that will determine who gets those spots. What makes this fun is that four of the five teams are playing each other. So convenient.

It’s all up to Megan.

Scenario 1: Megan WINS - IN

If Ryan wins, he’s IN because he has Head-to-Head wins over Jon and Shannon If Blythe wins + Shannon wins, Shannon is IN If Blythe wins + Jon wins, Blythe is IN

Scenario 2: Megan LOSES

If Ryan wins AND Megan doesn’t score 23 more points than he does, then Ryan + loser of Jon / Shannon is IN due to POINTS FOR.

If Blythe wins, she AND the loser of Jon / Shannon are IN due to POINTS FOR.

So…you really want to win.

Player of the Week

This one goes to Josh Allen. He scored two TDs on the same play. I still don’t quite know how it worked, but it did.

Ryan was NOT happy…but more on that later.

Team of the Week

THE Team Buckeyes!! 96.92 points and a W over The Schitt List. Led by her defense’s 20 points, the team was on fire top to bottom. Even her bench was outscoring her opponent…and it turns out Morgan was literally the only Buckeye to get a W this weekend.

Matchup of the Week

Ryan vs Erik was definitely the Game of the Week.

Here’s how it started

As it turns out, Ryan shouldn’t have played either.

Both teams were racking up points throughout the day, coming down to SNF. All Erik had left was Josh Allen…and in the snow, it wasn’t looking good.

Then Josh Allen threw a pass to Amari Cooper, who tossed it back to Allen, who then scored - which became a passing AND rushing touchdown.

But even after that nonsense, it wasn’t quite over.

One TD later and Ryan sent me this

Ouch.

Manager Stats

Megan’s team gets EN FUEGO status this week. Playing Justin Herbert over Jordan Love was…questionable. Especially when Herbert scored less than 3 points to Love’s 22.96. That plus Drake London would have been enough to clinch a playoff spot. Oh well.

Two other toasty benches this week:

Schedule Notes

SIX teams on a BYE this week! It’s annoying and also great for playoff drama. At least we get some great matchups IRL.
