Weeks 4 - 6 Recap
Standings
If it feels like your team just…can’t…score - then you aren’t alone. Everyone is feeling the pain.
With scoring low and BYE weeks kicking in, be prepared for some wild matchups. No lead is safe (JUST ASK JB!). Looking at the power rankings, the struggle is real. Erik and Megan are the only real stories of consistency - performance wise - while everyone else has been slogging it out.
Megan, Erik and Tuesday are all killing it in the points - with all three scoring over 500 points so far. On the flip side - Ryan is clearly this year’s Katie Mace. He’s sitting in 7th overall, but has the fewest points scored against him (66 a game). Since we’re seeing scores in the low-mid seventies…Ryan is basically in the Matrix dodging bullets right now.
Let’s RECAP
Player of the Weeks
This one is a bit of a tossup - because nobody (other than Josh Allen) has been doing anything outstanding. I can’t believe I’m writing this, but the most impressive player in the last three weeks has been ‘Dem Boys. In Week 5, Erik rolled with the Cowboys Defense and they were his best player. And it wasn’t like his other ones didn’t score either - the Boys racked up 23 points, en route to a 107 / 86 victory over me.
Fine. Jerry Jones it is.
Team of the Weeks
Murray up and Wait.
Who?
Tuesday! She has been playing lights out the last few weeks and sits on top of the 3-3 squad. She’s putting up solid points each week - the second highest scoring team in the league. She’s got a favorable schedule coming up, so by the end of the BYE weeks, she could be sitting close to the top spot!
Matchup of the Weeks
This one is easy. Justin vs Ryan. I know you are asking - how can a 64 - 53 matchup be any good. Well…for the entire weekend, it wasn’t. JBiz was sitting in the 30s while Ryan had only managed 53 (against an 81 projection). Going into Monday Night Football, this had all the elements of a dumpster fire.
But then a hero appeared.
Four (!) Touchdowns later, Ryan put the L in Kelce. Epic Collapse indeed.
EN FUEGO
We’ve got a few fiery benches to celebrate here:
- Week 4: Julian had 31 points from TJ Hockenson hanging out. With his starting WR only managing 3.1 points, he Coug’d it. Coach Leach is not happy with you right now.
- Week 5: JB left Gabe Davis and two TDs on the bench. I think this is ok because we got to see Ryan’s team melt down in real-time.
- Week 6: Blythe made the unfortunate decision to start Old Man Brady over Gorgeous Locks Lawrence. That choice cost her the W against Biz.
Nobody has managed to earn a dumpster fire…yet. But it’s still early in the BYE weeks, so I’m still holding out hope.
