Week 5 Recap

This is the best one-handed catch of the season. AND THE WHEELS!!

Unfortunately, he’s not available to be rostered. Which is too bad, because the injury woes continue on and on.

Standings

Not much has changed this week - except for Ryan taking a small leap over JB with his win this week (JB might be on the outside looking in right now, but his points and power say otherwise).

Meanwhile, Samantha stays on her point streak and Megan finds a way to win.

Player of the Week

Far and away the best player this week was Lamar: 42.42 points! That almost would have beat Erik singlehandedly (which I’m sure Samantha reminded him of…)

I briefly considered Joe Burrow and his 39.78 points…but go back to the 2000s bro, seriously.

Team of the Week

OMG WHO DO IT PICK is the team of the week.

During last week’s recap, I wrote the following:

Ryan and Erik are doing their best to not stand out at the party nobody invited them to.

To which Ryan responded with:

To be clear - ☝️ Ryan is NOT the same as this Ryan - but the GIF plays nonetheless.

Ryan then went to battle with JB this week and despite absolute faceplants at QB, WR, and RB, he got the W.

And now that he’s #3 in Power Rankings, I anticipate Ryan’s first name change to WELCOME TO THE PARTY!

Matchup of the Week

Ryan vs JB was the closest matchup this week, but the most fun one to watch was Megan vs Shannon. Megan had solid starts across the board, with the exception of Tyreek Hill. Nothing like wine tasting and having to scoreboard watch the Raiders and Broncos.

I found some footage of Megan trying to coax a few more points out of her roster this weekend:

Translation: Tyreek and Jordan, I expect better…also, WTF Aiyuk.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Shannon was closing fast! Kyler, 'Mondre, and Wilson got off to a good start…but then I think Shan forgot that the O means *OUT.

I mean, there were plenty of great players on the Waiver Wire…like (checks notes), Tank Bigsby (uh…), Tucker Kraft (a TE scored points?), and Ameer Abudllah (HE’S STILL PLAYING?!?).

Ok, mabye I’ll give Shan a little bit of grace on this - those are some of the most YOLO players I’ve ever seen.

But still - the O IS BIG AND RED!!!

Manager Stats

Despite some of the lopsided results this week, there wasn’t a ton of warm benches.

The most egregious was probably my team, starting Dontayvion Wicks over Brian Thomas…but most FLEX positions are an absolute crapshoot these days.

Jon’s team also left a bunch of points on the bench…oh wait, I was thinking about Saturday. Sorry, not sorry.
