Weeks 11 - 12 Recap
Standings
It took 12 weeks, but the first team has been officially
eliminated from the Playoffs. With a record of 3-9, Seattle Suckmyhawks is OUT. Three teams are on the bubble (with single-digit chances):
- Older Butt Wiser: 2%
- The Schitt List: 9%
- Toomey Smalls: 4%
Meanwhile - on the other end of the spectrum, no new teams have locked up spots. Five teams for three spots, two games separate them right now, with two to go.
If Biz and Morgan continue their push up the charts…things are gonna get weird 🙂
Interestingly - Morgan is punching up, currently sitting #7 in the rankings vs #10 in power. Samantha is the opposite, sitting at 10 and 8, respectively. Just remember…there’s still a chance!
Just as a refresher, here’s how tiebreakers work:
- Head-to-head results. In a multiple-team tie, it’s the cumulative H2H record that wins out (who beat the most in the group).
- Points for (aka how many points have you scored all season)
On to the recap!
Player of the Weeks
There were two standouts. First, in Week 11, Derrick Henry put up 25 point for Samantha in her defeat of Ryan. Winter is here and the 👑 did not disappoint. As a matter of fact, Erik felt that performance was so good that he just had to have him on his team…so he flipped Jaylen Waddle and Jamaal Williams for Henry. Both teams went on to lose in Week 12 - I guess the new teammates needed some more time to get to know their squad.
Speaking of Week 12, the second outstanding player was Josh Jacobs. In overtime (against the Seahawks…sigh), Jacobs broke off an 89-yard TD and finished with 42.3 points. That was a double walk-off - defeating Seattle and the EBDB in one-fell swoop.
Team of the Weeks
This one goes to The Schitt List. Week 11 was an absolutely DOMINATING performance. Samantha almost doubled Ryan’s score. Week 12 was a nail-biter, Samantha still managed nearly 100 points, but was bested by Blythe who happened to have the highest score of the week. The Schitt List is currently 6th in Points For, and we should probably all feel lucky that the early part of the season was rough for Samantha, I don’t think anyone wants to play her in the playoffs.
Matchup of the Weeks
Morgan vs Jon, Week 12. It was a double Ohio State vs Michigan weekend. While Big Blue took care of business in Columbus, the same could not be said for Fantasy Football.
Jon’s team looked kinda like Michigan two years ago - they couldn’t figure out how to score. Lockett led the way with 12.8 points, and Aaron Rodgers only mustered 8.5 (although I think he got benched IRL).
Meanwhile, Morgan put together a team that would make Jim Tressel happy. Solid QB play from 🐐, a kicker with 15 points, and D’Onta Foreman getting it done on the ground.
Jon did manage to score as many points as real-life Michigan…but still took his 4th L in a row. Nothing says “The Game” like prolonging a streak.
EN FUEGO
🚒 It was the Toomey household on fire these last two weeks. 🚒
- My team had 70% and 82% of rostered points sitting on the bench.
- In Week 11, Megan had 72% of rostered points just chilling.
In Megan’s case, Week 11 was her matchup against Erik. It was a low-scoring game all around…and all of those points were playable. She would have needed both to win, but the W was left on the table. I give that 🔥🔥🔥.
Schedule
Now that the NFL is a 17-week regular season, BYES go all the way through the regular Fantasy schedule. There will be no BYEs during the playoffs.
Be warned - Week 14 has six teams on a bye! Manage your rosters carefully.
